It mounts on the front brush shaft behind its own shield, so it turns with the front brush and scrubs the edges and corners along the wall as you go. Per Tornado's manual: unplug the machine, pull the front brush and shaft, fit the shield to the side plate, then slide the side brush shaft through the shield and the main brush.
