Viper Floor Machines

Viper floor machines are low-speed floor buffers, also called swing machines, that scrub, strip and buff hard floors at 175 RPM, and clean carpet when you fit the right brush. We carry the 17 inch Venom VN1715 and the 20 inch Venom VN2015, both corded, all metal and shipped with a pad driver. Compare other brands among our floor machines.

Viper Floor Machine FAQ

Should I buy the 17 inch or the 20 inch Viper Venom?

Go by your rooms. If you clean corridors, lobbies and cafeterias, the 20 inch VN2015 turns a 19 inch pad driver and covers them in fewer passes. In classrooms, offices and restrooms full of furniture, the 17 inch VN1715 and its 16 inch driver steer more easily. Describe your floors through our contact page or at (855) 601-5678, and you get a recommendation before you order.

Is the Viper Venom good for stripping floors?

Yes. Floor techs who run the Venom call it a heavy, all-metal machine that digs through old finish faster than lighter buffers, and several keep it for full restorations. You fit a black stripping pad, work the stripper at 175 RPM, then pick up the slurry with a wet vac or one of our Viper floor scrubbers before you rinse and recoat. The floor pad color chart shows which pad you need for each job.

Can a Viper Venom burnish a floor to a high gloss?

No. At 175 RPM the Venom scrubs, strips and spray buffs, but a high gloss takes a burnisher at 1,500 RPM or more, which glides over the finish instead of cutting into it. Most crews pair the two: you strip and recoat with the Venom, then keep the shine with a burnisher between coats. Compare models on our floor burnishers page, and read the floor buffer vs burnisher guide if you are unsure which one your floors need.
