Advance ES300 Self-Contained Carpet Extractor, 16", 9 Gallon, ST or XP with LIFT
(855) 601-5678 · support@oneupcleaning.com
The office lobby gets heavy foot traffic all day, and you can't close it overnight for a deep clean that takes until morning to dry. The Advance ES300 XP handles that with LIFT, Nilfisk's low-moisture interim mode: it lays down only 0.17 gallons a minute through a single spray nozzle, and Nilfisk says carpets are ready for traffic in as little as 30 minutes. When the carpet needs a real restoration, switch to Deep Clean at 0.7 gallons a minute.
Both ES300 models are self-contained pull-back extractors: spray, brush and vacuum in one pass across a 16-inch path, with a 9-gallon solution tank, a 7-gallon recovery tank, a 120 psi pump and a 1.5 hp, 3-stage vacuum motor with 120 inches of water lift. The ES300 ST is the standard model for deep cleaning, the ES300 XP adds LIFT, Pre-Treat and an integrated hand tool.

Choose the ST if you clean after hours and the carpet has time to dry, and you mostly clean open areas. Choose the XP if you clean while the building is open, want to run frequent interim cleans between deep cleans, or need to reach stairs, edges and upholstery. The XP costs $1,084 more and includes the hand tool, so if you would buy the hand tool upgrade for the ST anyway, the XP is the better buy.
Floating brush head. It needs no adjusting, keeps contact with the carpet and improves water pickup, so carpets dry faster.
Front-mounted drain hose. Dump the recovery tank straight into a floor drain or bucket without lifting it.
Removable tank with a stowable handle. Refilling and cleaning out the tanks is a lot less awkward.
Adjustable handle. Less backing up in tight offices, hallways and classrooms.
CRI Gold Seal of Approval. Tested by the Carpet and Rug Institute for soil removal, water recovery and carpet appearance.
Compact build. 28 x 19.25 x 32 inches, easy to store between jobs.
Runs at 68 dB(A) with a 50-foot cord for long corridors.
The ES300 is a 16-inch pull-back machine, which makes it a good fit for offices, schools, hotels and healthcare buildings with lots of rooms, hallways and furniture to work around. It is not the machine for a 20,000 square foot open floor every week; a wider walk-behind or rider will finish that much faster.
Two honest notes. It weighs 102 to 106 pounds and ships by freight on a pallet, so plan on it living on one floor or riding an elevator. And the ES300 ST and the Clarke EX40 16ST share the same published specs (path, tanks, pump, vacuum, weight and size), both built by Nilfisk. If you only need a standard deep-clean machine without LIFT, the Clarke EX40 16ST costs $221 less.
The Advance ES400 XLP is the bigger brother of the ES300 XP. It has the same LIFT, Deep Clean and Pre-Treat modes and the integrated hand tool, with an 18-inch path, a 12-gallon solution tank and a 10-gallon recovery tank, and a flip handle so you can push it forward as well as pull it back. It weighs 118 pounds and is 22.75 inches wide, versus 19.25 inches on the ES300. The ES400 XLP is $6,714, or $1,086 more than the ES300 XP.
Pick the ES300 for buildings full of small rooms, tight doorways and furniture. Pick the ES400 XLP for conference rooms, ballrooms, long corridors and open office floors, where the wider path and bigger tanks mean fewer passes and fewer refills.
Vacuum first, ideally with a beater-bar upright, to lift out loose soil and hair. Pre-spray traffic lanes with your carpet chemical and give it 10 to 15 minutes to dwell without letting it dry. Fill the solution tank with water no hotter than 130 °F, plus chemical if you like, set the handle to waist height and lower the brush deck.
On the XP, pick the mode on the panel: Deep for restorative cleaning, LIFT for quick interim cleans (skip the pre-spray with LIFT, and don't use it for the yearly deep clean). Pull back at about one foot per second and overlap each stripe by 2 to 3 inches, using the right side of the machine along edges. Drain the recovery tank every time before you refill the solution tank, and run at least two air movers per room to speed up drying.
After the job, drain both tanks, rinse the recovery tank, dome lid and float, rinse the vacuum shoe, clean hair off the brush, raise the brush deck and store the machine with the lid open. Clean the spray nozzles and solution filter weekly, and flush the solution system with a vinegar mix once a year.
Quieter. The NaceCare AVB 9X is a 16-inch pull-back at 60 dB(A), with a 130 psi pump and 135 inches of water lift, for $249 less than the ES300 ST. It has no low-moisture mode like LIFT.
Tighter budget. The Viper CEX410 is a 16-inch, 9-gallon self-contained extractor from the same Nilfisk family for $1,644 less than the ES300 ST.

Advance is Nilfisk's commercial floor care line in North America, and the ES300 is built on the AquaClean platform Advance has used for its extractors for years. Under Nilfisk's current US warranty, the ES300 is covered for 3 years on parts, 3 years on labor and 1 year on travel. Service and parts come through Nilfisk's network of factory-trained service centers. Nilfisk now builds the ES300 under its own name, so the machine you receive may carry a Nilfisk badge instead of the Advance logo. It's the same model with the same part numbers. Found a lower price? Call or message us and we'll beat it.

They share the same 16-inch path, 9-gallon solution and 7-gallon recovery tanks, 120 psi pump and 1.5 hp vacuum. The XP adds LIFT low-moisture interim cleaning and a Pre-Treat mode, selected on the control panel, plus an integrated hand tool. The ST is the standard deep-clean model, and the hand tool is an optional upgrade kit (56265810).
LIFT is Nilfisk's low-moisture interim cleaning mode on the ES300 XP and ES400 XLP. It sprays about 0.17 gallons a minute through a single nozzle, and Nilfisk says carpets are ready for traffic in as little as 30 minutes. Use it for frequent interim cleans between deep cleans, not for the yearly restorative clean, and skip the pre-spray when you run it.
In LIFT mode on the XP, Nilfisk says as little as 30 minutes. In Deep Clean mode the machine puts down 0.7 gallons a minute, so drying takes longer and depends on the carpet, humidity and airflow. Nilfisk recommends at least two air movers per room.
The ES300 XP has an integrated hand tool and hose stored on the machine. The ES300 ST does not; Nilfisk sells a hand tool and hose upgrade kit for it (56265810). Ask us if you'd like to add it to your order.
It's built as a carpet extractor. Nilfisk offers 16-inch nylon and MidGrit 240 hard floor brushes (56265175 and 56265176) and a hard floor tool assembly (56265675) as options for occasional hard floor work. For regular hard floor cleaning, a floor scrubber is the better tool.
Both are Nilfisk machines and share the same published specifications for the standard model: 16-inch path, 9 and 7 gallon tanks, 120 psi pump, 1.5 hp 3-stage vacuum, 102 lb and 28 x 19.25 x 32 inches. The ES300 XP adds LIFT, Pre-Treat and the integrated hand tool, which the EX40 16ST doesn't have.
The ES300 weighs 102 to 106 pounds and ships by freight on a pallet straight from Nilfisk. Inspect the crate before you sign for it and note any damage on the delivery receipt.
Daily: drain and rinse both tanks, rinse the recovery lid and float, rinse the vacuum shoe and clean hair off the brush, then store it with the brush deck raised and the lid open. Weekly: clean the spray nozzles and the solution filter. Yearly: flush the solution system with one quart of white vinegar in two gallons of water.
Under Nilfisk's current US limited warranty: 3 years parts, 3 years labor and 1 year travel. Wear items such as brushes, filters and carbon motor brushes are not covered.
