How does the rotating deck work?
Push the SC351 forward like any scrubber. When you need to back out of a corner or clean along a wall, lift the handle slightly while the brush turns and the deck swings around 180 degrees, so the squeegee trails behind you and you can scrub and dry while pulling the machine. Push forward again and the deck returns to the normal position.
Should I choose the AGM or the lithium-ion version?
The AGM version (9087342020) uses a 12V 84Ah maintenance-free battery and suits a machine that runs once a day and charges overnight. The lithium-ion version (50000622) has a 24V lithium battery that tolerates quick top-up charges, weighs 23 pounds less (123 vs 146 lb operating weight), adds a 14-inch pad holder, and is covered for 5 years under Nilfisk's US battery warranty versus 12 months for AGM.
How long does it run on a charge?
Nilfisk lists up to 100 minutes of scrubbing per charge. Charge it after every shift with the onboard charger, which plugs into any standard outlet; the green light means the charge is complete.
How much floor can it clean?
Nilfisk rates it at 3,500 to 7,000 square feet an hour in theory, depending on speed. In real use with refills, edges and furniture, plan on roughly half that, which makes it a good fit for floors up to about 10,000 square feet a day.
Is it the same machine as the Clarke Vantage 14?
Both are built by Nilfisk on the same platform and share the same published specifications: rotating deck, 14.5-inch path, tanks, motors and dimensions. The SC351 AGM costs less than the Vantage 14 on our store.
Does it come with a pad driver?
The lithium-ion version includes a 14-inch flat pad holder (9099672000) along with the brush. The AGM version comes with the 14.5-inch Prolene scrub brush (9099999000) only; a pad holder is available as an option, along with MidLite Grit 180, MidGrit 240, Prolite and Union Mix brushes.
What floors can I use it on?
Sealed hard floors such as VCT, LVT, vinyl, ceramic and porcelain tile, sealed concrete and terrazzo. Use it indoors on level floors; the manual limits operation to a 2% slope. Don't wash the machine with a hose or pressure washer.
What maintenance does it need?
After each shift: charge the battery, empty and rinse the recovery tank, and clean the brush, squeegee and vacuum grid. Weekly: check the squeegee blades and turn or replace them when worn. All service points open without tools.
What warranty does the SC351 have?
Under Nilfisk's current US limited warranty: 3 years parts, 3 years labor and 1 year travel on the machine. AGM batteries are covered for 12 months and lithium-ion batteries for 5 years against manufacturer defects. Brushes, pads and squeegee blades are wear items.
