Burnishing Pads Rated for Your High-Speed Clarke

A burnisher is only as good as the pad under it, and a pad that isn't rated for the speed can come apart or leave the shine patchy. These are the 20-inch burnishing pads Clarke lists in the Ultra Speed 20 and 20T manual, each rated for 2,000 RPM and sold in cases of 5. They also fit the 20-inch pad holder on the Ultra Speed Pro 1500, which runs at 1,500 RPM.

Three Pads, Three Finishes

• Natural Blend, Tan (976352). A high-speed natural blend pad in tan.

• Aqua (976240). Nilfisk lists it as an ultra high-speed pad.

• Natural Blend, White (976327). A high-speed natural blend pad in white.

Clarke's documents give the rating, not a job for each color, so start with the pad your floor finish maker recommends for dry burnishing. Our floor pad color chart explains how pad colors and speeds line up.

Why Use Clarke Burnishing Pads

• Rated for 2,000 RPM. Clarke's manual tells you to always use a quality pad rated for 2,000 RPM on the Ultra Speed 20.

• 20 inches with a center hole. Fits the Ultra Speed 20 and 20T pad driver and the Pro 1500 pad holder.

• Case of 5. Enough pads to rotate a clean one onto the machine while the others are rinsed or retired.

Fitting a Pad

On the Ultra Speed 20 and 20T, center the pad on the outside edge of the pad driver, not on its center hole, since an off-center pad can cause vibration, and tighten the pad retainer as tight as you can. On the Pro 1500, place the pad on the holder and screw the Big Mouth lock through the center hole until it's firm. Replace a pad once it's glazed, torn or worn thin. Pads are consumables and aren't covered by a machine warranty.
