Tornado® H14 HEPA Filter K28893420 for Strike and Zephyr Cordless Vacuums

The K28893420 is the HEPA filter cartridge Tornado uses in two cordless vacuums: the Strike upright and the Zephyr backpack. On both, it's the last stage of a 2-stage system. The fleece bag catches the bulk of the dirt, and this filter catches the fine dust that gets past it before the air leaves the machine.
Tornado rates it H14, a stricter class than the basic HEPA label many vacuums carry. That's what you want in classrooms, clinics and offices where people with allergies sit all day. And since one part fits both machines, a mixed fleet needs only one filter on the shelf.
Tornado's Zephyr manual says to change the HEPA filter once a year. The Strike manual gives no interval, so the same yearly swap is a sensible baseline there too.
Change it sooner if suction stays weak after you've fitted a new bag and cleared any clogs. On both machines, Tornado lists a new HEPA filter as the next step when that happens. Neither manual gives a way to wash or tap the filter clean, only to replace it, so don't rinse it.
Strike: lift off the bag cover. The filter sits under the fleece bag. Unlock it, swing it up and out, slide the new one into its holder, swing it down until it locks, and click the cover back on.
Zephyr: unlock and remove the dirt receptacle, turn the suction head 180°, unlock the old filter and click the new one in. Turn the head back and lock the receptacle in place.
It's a good moment to fit a fresh bag too: K28893570 bags for the Strike or K69043350 bags for the Zephyr.
A HEPA filter can look fine long after it's done its job. The fine dust that chokes airflow is buried in the pleats, not sitting on top. I'd write the install date on the frame with a marker and swap it every 12 months, sooner after construction cleanup or other dusty work.
To be clear on fit: this filter is for the Strike (TV190-W10-U) and the Zephyr (TV570-Q03-U) only. The Tempest carpet sweeper uses the same 36V battery but a different filter, and the corded CVD uprights take their own. Not sure which one you have? Call (855) 601-5678 and we'll check it with you.

Yes. Tornado lists K28893420 as the HEPA filter for the Strike TV190-W10-U and the Zephyr TV570-Q03-U, and both operator manuals carry the same part number.
Tornado's Zephyr manual says once a year. The Strike manual gives no interval, so once a year is a good baseline for it too. Replace it sooner if suction stays weak after you've fitted a new bag and cleared any clogs.
Tornado's manuals only describe replacing it and give no washing or cleaning method, so don't rinse it. Fit a new filter instead.
H14 is a filter class under the European EN 1822 standard, rated to capture at least 99.995% of particles at the hardest size to trap. It's a step above H13. Tornado lists this filter as H14.
No. The Tempest carpet sweeper and the corded CVD uprights use different filters. This one is for the Strike and the Zephyr only.
