Tornado Vacuums

A Tornado vacuum is built for crews that clean the same building every shift, from office carpet and classrooms to the back room after a leak. We carry Tornado corded and cordless uprights, the Zephyr and Pac-Vac 6 Roam cordless backpacks, the 30-inch CK3030 wide area vacuum and Taskforce wet dry vacuums.

How to Choose a Tornado Vacuum

Pick the format first. You get five uprights for daily carpet, two cordless backpacks for stairs and tight rooms, the CK3030 for wide open carpet and three Taskforce machines for water. To compare other brands, see commercial upright vacuums and commercial backpack vacuums.

Corded or cordless. If your crew vacuums all shift, the corded CVD 30, CVD 38 and CK ULW 13/1 never stop for a charge. Where outlets are scarce, the cordless Roam, Strike, Zephyr and Pac-Vac 6 Roam run 41 to 73 minutes per charge by Tornado's rating, so plan a spare battery for long routes. The Strike and Zephyr share one 36 V battery and charger, so one spare covers both. Several cordless models come machine only, so check the variant you pick.

Upright or backpack. An upright does your carpet runs, rugs and walk-off mats best. A backpack wins on stairs, in crowded rooms and above the floor, and many crews run one of each. If you want a wand on an upright, the Strike ships with one.

Filtration. The CVD uprights, Strike, Zephyr and Pac-Vac 6 Roam all filter through HEPA, and the CVDs carry CRI Gold certification. Read what a HEPA vacuum is before you buy for a clinic or school.

Wide carpet or water. The CK3030 cleans a 30 inch path on a 75 foot cord, though you will still need a smaller vacuum for edges. For leaks and stripping days, the Taskforce 10, 15 and 20 take up 5, 10 and 15 gallons of liquid, and our commercial wet dry vacuums page compares them with other brands.

Tell us your square footage, your carpet and hard floor split and how long you vacuum each night, and you will get a Tornado model suggestion before you buy. Call (855) 601-5678 or use the contact page. Decide before you open the box, since the return policy covers machines returned within 30 days unused, in new condition and in their original packaging.

Runtimes are Tornado ratings, full power to eco where two are given. Warranty terms follow Tornado's schedule revised May 8, 2026. Cordless prices are machine only where that option exists.

Bags, Filters and Batteries for Tornado Vacuums

Bags, belts and filters are wear parts the warranty excludes, and washed filters or non-genuine parts can void it, so keep genuine spares on hand. You will find HEPA bags for the Roam and CK ULW 13/1, fleece bags and the shared H14 filter for the Strike and Zephyr, and the Tornado 36 V cordless battery with its charger. Vacuum, Scrubber or Extractor?

A vacuum lifts loose soil but won't wash a hard floor. If most of your building is tile or VCT, look at Tornado floor scrubbers, and for deep carpet cleaning, Tornado carpet extractors. To weigh other brands, browse all commercial vacuums or read about the best vacuum for commercial cleaning. The rest of the line is under Tornado cleaning equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions About Tornado Vacuums

Who makes Tornado vacuums?

Tornado Industries, which Tacony Corporation acquired in 2007. It runs as part of Tacony's Commercial Floor Care division from Fenton, Missouri, and builds commercial cleaning equipment rather than household machines. Our guide to who makes Tornado covers the company's history and what owners say.

What warranty do Tornado vacuums have?

Two years of labor on every model here. Parts run 2 years on the CK ULW 13/1, Roam and Taskforce line and 4 years on the rest. The Roam, Strike and Pac-Vac 6 Roam batteries get a 1 year replacement, and a Zephyr battery is replaced within 90 days, then prorated. Coverage is for the original buyer in the US and Canada; see Tornado's warranty policy.

How long does a Tornado cordless vacuum run?

Between 41 and 73 minutes, depending on the machine and mode. Tornado rates the Zephyr at 41 minutes on full power and 73 on eco, the Strike at 47 and 67, the Roam at up to 50 and the Pac-Vac 6 Roam at up to 55. For a longer route, you can charge a second battery while you clean with the first.

Are Tornado vacuums good for commercial use?

Yes, for the jobs they are built for. Custodians talk most about the corded uprights, which earn praise for lasting years and being easy to repair in house, though some crews report the opposite on other Tornado machines. Changing the belt is the question owners ask most, so keep spare belts, bags and filters on hand.
