Fresh Brushes for Your Focus II Cylindrical 28

The Cylindrical 28 version of the Clarke Focus II walk-behind scrubber scrubs with two counter-rotating roller brushes at 613 RPM. They dig into grout lines and textured tile, and they flick small debris into the tray while they scrub. When the bristles wear short, the deck stops reaching the low spots and the tray fills with water instead of grit. These are Clarke's replacement 28-inch cylindrical brushes, sold one at a time. The machine runs two.

Which Brush Do You Need?

Brush Best for
Polypropylene, red Everyday scrubbing of sealed concrete, VCT and ceramic tile.
Soft nylon, yellow Gentle scrubbing of finished floors and softer tile.
Hard nylon, natural Stiffer bristles for heavier soil and textured floors.
180 grit, blue and grey The lightest abrasive brush, for grout and safety tile that need more bite.
80 grit, black Medium abrasive for rough concrete and quarry tile.
46 grit, orange and brown The most aggressive brush, for embedded grime on rough concrete.

Start with the softest brush that cleans your floor. Grit brushes are abrasive, so test them in a corner and keep them off floor finish you want to keep.

Why Choose a Cylindrical Brush

  • Scrubs and sweeps in one pass. The rollers lift light debris into the tray, so grit doesn't end up under the squeegee.

  • Reaches into grout. Counter-rotating bristles work the floor from both directions.

  • Six bristle choices. From soft nylon to 46 grit, matched to your floor.

Changing and Rotating the Brushes

The Focus II Cylindrical 28 changes brushes without tools. Raise the head and turn the key off. At the front of the machine, loosen the thumb screw on the brush door, lower the door about half an inch and lift it off, then slide the brush out. Slide the new brush onto the driver and turn it slowly until the drive lugs line up with the slots, push it all the way in, refit the door and tighten the thumb screw. Clarke recommends turning each brush end for end now and then to reverse the bristle direction, which makes them last longer. Empty and rinse the debris tray after every shift. Fit the same brush type on both sides. Brushes are wear items and aren't covered by Nilfisk's machine warranty except for manufacturing defects. Disc models use the Focus II disc scrub brushes instead.
