Restroom grout turns gray from the inside of the lines, where a mop and a flat scrub pad never reach. Getting it back usually means a hand brush and sore knees. These green grout pads give your Clarke FM40 orbital floor machine a coarse, open surface that works down into the grout lines while the machine does the scrubbing. The FM40 brochure names grout cleaning in restrooms as one of the jobs it does with the right pad.
Each pad is a full 14 x 20 inches, and they come 4 to a case. Some catalogs sell this same Clarke part as the Ruff pad for BOOST machines, so it also fits the BOOST deck of the Clarke CA60 20B.
Run the grout pad on ceramic and quarry tile with recessed grout lines, and on textured or slip-resistant tile. On smooth VCT and finished floors, use a regular scrub pad instead, like the red or blue Clarke BOOST scrub pads in the same size. A grout pad is aggressive, so it isn't the pad for floors with a finish you want to keep.

The machine does the work. The FM40's 160 lb of down pressure replaces your arm and your knees.
Corners and edges. A rectangular pad reaches tight to walls, toilets and partitions.

Lock the FM40 handle upright, tilt the machine back onto the handle, center the pad over the grip face and press until the hooks set. Use your usual tile and grout cleaner, then pick up the dirty solution with a wet vac or squeegee before it dries back into the grout. Rinse the pad after each job. Pads are wear items and aren't covered by Nilfisk's machine warranty except for manufacturing defects.
