EDIC Saturn Horseshoe Weight Kit: More Down Pressure for Stripping and Scrubbing


Old finish, scuffed wax and ground-in soil come up faster when the pad bites harder. EDIC's 21 lb horseshoe weight sits on the base of your Saturn low speed floor machine around the motor and presses the brush or pad into the floor, so stripping, scraping and heavy scrubbing take fewer passes and less chemical.

The weight mounts on EDIC's pin kit, and the pins take one weight or two stacked, for up to 42 lb of extra down pressure. Buying your first weight? Choose Weight + pin kit at $413. Adding a second weight to a machine that already has the pins? Choose Weight only at $295.

Unplug the machine and set it flat before you fit or remove a weight. Lift with your legs: each weight is 21 lb, and the machine is much harder to tip back on its wheels with two fitted.

Do I need the pin kit?

For the first weight, yes: the D14174 pins hold the weight on the machine, and EDIC sells them as part of its weight kit. The pins take one weight or two stacked, so a second weight on the same machine doesn't need another pin kit.

Which machines does it fit?

EDIC's Saturn low speed (175 RPM), heavy duty and dual speed floor machines, 17 inch and 20 inch. It is not for the Saturn SV high speed burnisher, where extra weight would overload the motor.

When should I use the weight?

For stripping old finish, scraping and heavy scrubbing, where more down pressure makes the pad or brush cut faster. Take it off for light buffing and bonnet cleaning, where it only adds drag and wear.

One weight or two?

One 21 lb weight handles most stripping. A second weight (42 lb total) helps on thick or stubborn finish, but makes the machine heavier to steer and to tip back on its wheels.

Why is the weight + pin kit not discounted?

EDIC's pricing policy doesn't allow its parts to be advertised below its set prices, bundled or not. The combined option saves you a second checkout and ships free, because orders of $400 and up ship free.

What is the warranty?
