NaceCare N12 and N15 Dual Motor Commercial Upright Vacuums, 12 or 15 Inches

It's 11 a.m. and housekeeping has 16 checkouts to turn before 3. Every room has carpet around the bed, under the desk and behind the door. The NaceCare N12 and N15 commercial upright vacuums are built for that loop: a dual motor upright with one motor for suction and a separate motor spinning the brush, a 40-foot cord, and a handle that lowers almost flat so the head slides under the bed.

Pick the 12-inch N12 for guest rooms and offices, or the 15-inch N15 to cover corridors and open carpet in fewer passes. Both come with an optional 180-degree swivel neck (N12S and N15S) that steers around chair and table legs instead of backing up. Prices start at $679.

The Owner's Insights on the N12 and N15 Uprights

Most hotel uprights die the same way: the belt or the brush quits, and the machine ends up in the linen closet. The N12 and N15 split the work between a 1,200-watt vacuum motor and a separate brush motor (175 watts on the 12-inch head, 200 on the 15-inch), so suction doesn't drop when the brush is working a thick rug. If the brush jams on a sock or a phone cord, it stops on its own, and a red light tells your housekeeper why.

At 15 to 16 lbs, they're light enough to lift on and off a cart all day. Two honest limits. The 1-gallon bag fills sooner than a canister's tank on a big floor, and at 67.5 to 68.5 dB(A) they're louder than a quiet canister like the Henry at 49 dB(A). For guest rooms, offices and hallways, that trade is worth it. For a large open office cleaned during business hours, a canister or backpack fits better.

Why You'll Love These Commercial Upright Vacuums

  • Two motors. A 1,200 W vacuum motor and its own brush motor, so suction stays strong while the brush works the pile.

  • 100 to 106 cfm, 175 mbar of suction. About 70 inches of water lift, plenty to pull grit out of hotel and office carpet.

  • 4 brush heights and a brush on/off switch. Low pile, plush guest room carpet and hard floors each get the right setting.

  • Warning lights. Red when the brush is set too high, worn or jammed. Orange when the bag is full or the airflow is blocked.

  • 40-foot cord. Most guest rooms and offices from one outlet.

  • On-board hose and crevice tool. Baseboards, vents and the gap beside the bed without a second machine.

  • Sealed filtration. A 3-layer paper bag with a motor protection filter and an exhaust filter behind it.

12 or 15 Inches, Standard or Swivel Neck?

All four share the same motors, bag, cord and on-board tools. Width and neck are the only choices. Tap a picture to see it up close.

NaceCare N12 12-inch upright vacuum

N12, 12-inch, standard neck. The narrowest and lightest at 15 lbs. Pick it for guest rooms, small offices and classrooms where furniture sits close together.

NaceCare N12S 12-inch upright vacuum with swivel neck

N12S, 12-inch with swivel neck. The same machine with a neck that turns 180 degrees, so you steer around beds and desk chairs. $70 more than the N12.

NaceCare N15 15-inch upright vacuum

N15, 15-inch, standard neck. A 25% wider path for corridors, meeting rooms and lobbies, with a 200 W brush motor. $70 more than the N12.

NaceCare N15S 15-inch upright vacuum with swivel neck

N15S, 15-inch with swivel neck. The wide head and the swivel neck together, for big rooms that still have furniture to work around. $50 more than the N15.

Commercial Upright Vacuum or a Canister?

Mostly carpet, room after room? An upright wins. The powered brush lifts the pile and the whole machine moves with one hand. That's why hotels lean on them.

Mixed floors, stairs and quiet hours? The NaceCare Henry PPR 240 canister runs at 49 dB(A) and costs $80 less than the N12. For stairs and theater seating, the RSV 150 backpack goes where an upright can't.

On a tighter budget? The Tornado Deluxe CVD 30 is a 12-inch single motor upright with HEPA filtration for $130 less, and the Tornado CK ULW 13/1 weighs under 10 lbs for $380 less. Honestly, for a few rooms a day either is a fair buy. The dual motor N12 and N15 earn their price when the machine runs a full shift. See them all in our commercial upright vacuums collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the N12, N12S, N15 and N15S?

Only width and neck. The N12 and N12S clean a 12-inch path; the N15 and N15S clean 15 inches with a slightly stronger brush motor (200 W instead of 175 W). The S models add a 180-degree swivel neck for steering around furniture. Motor, bag, cord and on-board tools are the same on all four.

What does dual motor mean?

One motor makes the suction (1,200 W) and a second motor turns the brush roll. Suction doesn't drop when the brush works through thick carpet, and the brush can stop on a jam while the vacuum keeps running.

Can it vacuum hard floors?

Yes. Switch the brush off and set the height, and it vacuums VCT, LVT, sealed concrete and wood without scattering debris. For mostly hard floor, a canister like the Henry PPR 240 is the better fit.

Which bags does it use?

NaceCare 347029 3-layer paper bags, 1 gallon each, sold in packs of 10 and shared by all four models. An orange light tells you when the bag is full.

Is it a HEPA vacuum?

NaceCare doesn't rate these uprights as HEPA. They use sealed filtration with a 3-layer bag, a motor protection filter and an exhaust filter, which is right for daily dust in hotels and offices. For certified HEPA filtration, look at the NaceCare TEL 390.

How long is the cord, and how loud is it?

The cord is 40 feet. NaceCare rates the 12-inch models at 67.5 dB(A) and the 15-inch at 68.5 dB(A), a little louder than normal conversation.

What tools come on board?

A hose that pulls out of the handle and a crevice tool, for baseboards, vents, corners and the gap beside the bed.

What warranty do the N12 and N15 have?

NaceCare's 2025 US warranty chart: 2 years on parts, motors, switches and electrical, and 2 years labor.
