Most carpet routes carry a prespray, an encapsulation cleaner and a spotter. Carpet Cleaner America's encapsulating prespray, sold for years as nKapper, does all three from one jug. You change the dilution, not the product, and the case on your truck covers the whole night.
Encapsulants work by dissolving the soil and locking it inside a crystal film on the fiber. The film dries, and the next routine vacuuming lifts it away with the dirt inside. Nothing sticky is left behind to pull new soil in, which is why encapsulated carpet stays clean longer between visits. CCA rates it for carpets including wool.
| Job | Mix | How |
|---|---|---|
| Encapsulation cleaning | 10 oz per gallon of water | Spray the carpet, then brush it in with your CRB machine |
| Pre-spray before dry compound | 5 oz per gallon of water | Moisten soiled areas without overwetting, then spread compound and brush in |
| General pre-spray | 5 to 10 oz per gallon of water | Spray ahead of your cleaning method |
| Heavy traffic lanes | Half concentrate, half water | Spray the lane, let it work, then clean |
| Tough spots | Full strength | Wet a clean towel, dab the spot and lift the stain. Don't rub |
At the encapsulation mix, one 4 gallon case makes about 51 gallons of ready-to-use solution. At the 5 oz pre-spray mix, it makes about 102 gallons.
One product, three jobs, so your truck carries one concentrate instead of a prespray, an encap cleaner and a spotter.
Low moisture, so offices and schools get their carpet back fast instead of waiting out a wet clean.
No sticky residue for soil to cling to, so the carpet stays cleaner between visits.
Not hazard classified on its safety data sheet, and it ships by ground with no DOT restrictions.
Running a TM4 or TM5? Pour the mix into the SPX onboard sprayer and you spray and brush in the same pass. On a TM3, or on stairs, a pump-up sprayer works fine. For heavier soil, CCA's two-step method is this prespray at 5 oz per gallon followed by dry carpet cleaning compound brushed in with the CRB.
Encapsulation is an interim method. It keeps carpet looking good between deep cleans, but heavily soiled carpet still needs hot water extraction now and then.
