Change the bag when the bag light comes on, not when it looks full. On the CarpetMaster that light reacts to airflow, so it also comes on when the hose, wand or base is clogged. If you fit a new bag and the light stays on, look for a clog before you suspect the motor.

Genuine bags matter more on these uprights because the bag is the first of three filter stages. A loose-fitting generic bag lets fine dust reach the pre-filter and the HEPA filter early, and those cost more to replace than a pack of bags.


Which Uprights Take 107413584 Bags?

To change the bag: unplug the machine, press the dust lid button and lift the lid off, push down beside the plastic holder to free the bag from the inlet, and pull the full bag out by its cardboard collar. Slide a new bag into the holder slot, push the holder back up so the collar seats on the inlet, and refit the lid.
