EDIC 1038-8002FB: Spray and Suction Into the Gaps Other Tools Can't Reach

The dirt that makes a car interior look unfinished hides in the gaps: along the seat tracks, between the seat and the console, in the fold of a booth cushion. A flat upholstery tool rides over those spots. The EDIC 1038-8002FB is a long, narrow stainless steel crevice extraction tool that puts the spray and the suction right at the bottom of the gap.

It's 17 in long with a 3.5 in head, a trigger valve and a 1.5 in vacuum connection, and it's rated to 1000 PSI. Stainless steel resists corrosion and takes daily professional use. EDIC lists it as an accessory for its Galaxy automotive extractors and as an optional tool for the Galaxy portables.

Where It Earns Its Place

  • Vehicles: seat tracks, console gaps, door pocket carpet, trunk edges and the seams of bucket seats.

  • Furniture: between sofa and booth cushions, along piping and welting, the crease where seat meets back.

  • Carpet edges: along trim and baseboards, and the inside corners of stair treads.

Most detailers carry it beside an upholstery tool. The 1039-9502FB stainless upholstery tool ($128) is the one EDIC ships with its automotive extractors, and the two run on the same hose.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a crevice tool for?

The gaps a flat upholstery tool can't get into: between the seats and the console, along seat tracks, between sofa or booth cushions, carpet edges along door trim, and the inside corners of stair treads. The long narrow body gets the spray and suction to the bottom of the gap.

Which machines does it fit?

EDIC lists it as an accessory for the Galaxy automotive extractors and as an optional Galaxy tool. It fits any EDIC 1.5 in vacuum hose with a quick disconnect solution line: the automotive extractors, Galaxy 5, Galaxy 2000 and Galaxy Pro, the Bravo, the Supernova and Polaris on an accessory hose, and the Fivestar and Comet on the 341AC hose. On an Endeavor, keep the pressure at 1000 PSI or below.

Does it come with a hose?

No. It plugs into the hose assembly that came with your machine or kit.

Crevice tool or upholstery tool?

Both, if you detail cars. The upholstery tool cleans seat faces and flat fabric; the crevice tool reaches the gaps around them. The 1039-9502FB stainless upholstery tool is the one that comes with EDIC's automotive extractors.

What pressure can it take?

EDIC rates it to 1000 PSI, so it runs at full pressure on every Galaxy, including the 500 PSI CX and FX units.

What is the warranty?

EDIC's standard limited warranty covers defects in material and workmanship. Tools are wear items, so damage from use isn't covered. Call or message us with your order number and we'll handle any claim with EDIC.
