NaceCare Duplex Escalator Cleaning Kit (420497) for Duplex 420 Machines

Escalator steps collect grit and gum in their grooves, and a vacuum or a mop never gets down there. This NaceCare kit sets up a Duplex 420 to clean them: the machine rides on its escalator trolley, guide wheels follow the step, and the counter-rotating brushes scrub down into the grooves while the machine picks up the dirty water.
It fits the corded DP 420 and the hybrid DH 420 and DHB 420, so one machine handles your floors, carpets and escalators.
Escalator trolley that carries the machine on the step.
Water tanks for escalator work.
Tread guide wheels that keep the brushes lined up with the step grooves.
A pair of escalator brushes, with longer, stiffer bristles that reach into the step grooves.
A top cover with an opening for a wet vacuum hose, for heavy jobs.
Not for routine cleaning. The Duplex lifts the dirty water into its own recovery tank as it scrubs. The vacuum is for heavy jobs, like the first deep clean of a neglected escalator, when a lot of grit and dirty water comes up. Then you put a wet vac hose into the opening in the kit's top cover and run the vacuum while the machine works.
No vacuum comes with the kit. A compact wet/dry vac is the easiest to carry from one escalator to the next: the corded CVC 370 Charles, or the cordless WVB 370NX, which pairs well with the battery DHB 420 where outlets are scarce.
Escalators from different makers have different groove spacing, so Duplex also makes escalator brushes for Otis, Schindler and Thyssen steps. Tell us your escalator make when you order and we'll make sure you have the right pair.
Clean escalators with the unit stopped and the landings barricaded, following the building's escalator safety procedure. You work one step at a time and move the escalator on as you go.
Power is the practical question. The corded DP 420 needs an outlet near the landing. The battery DHB 420 runs without a cord, up to 50 minutes on its Lite battery, which suits malls and transit stations where outlets are scarce.

An escalator trolley, a top cover with an opening for a wet vacuum hose, water tanks, tread guide wheels and a pair of escalator brushes. Your Duplex 420 does the scrubbing and picks up the water.
No. You don't need one for routine cleaning, since the Duplex picks up the dirty water itself. For heavy first cleans, put a wet vac hose into the opening in the top cover. A compact wet/dry vac like the CVC 370 Charles or the cordless WVB 370NX is easiest to carry between escalators.
The Duplex 420 family: the corded DP 420 and the hybrid DH 420 and DHB 420. NaceCare sells the DH and DHB as escalator-capable with this add-on kit.
Duplex makes escalator brushes for Otis, Schindler and Thyssen steps, because their groove spacing differs. Tell us your escalator make when you order and we'll make sure you have the right pair.
Yes. The 420 floor brushes stay on for floors and carpet, and you swap to the escalator brushes when you set the machine up on the kit.
