Powr-Flite® F6 Downdraft® PDF6WRD Dryer / Air Mover, 3,500 CFM, 2-Speed, 1/4 HP, Handle and Casters

A supply line let go over the weekend and the conference room carpet is wet wall to wall. One small dryer in the corner won't cut it. The Powr-Flite F6 Downdraft PDF6WRD pulls warm, dry air from above and pushes it down and out across the entire floor, at more than 3,500 CFM.
Its 6-blade, 16.5-inch precision-pitched fan runs on a 2-speed, 1/4 HP motor rated for continuous use. Set it face down on its four casters for 360-degree downdraft drying, or tilt and stand it to aim air at walls and structures. A telescoping handle and heavy-duty casters move its 50 lbs, and the units stack for transport.
The F6 is the dryer I'd send to water damage and big carpet jobs, not to the touch-up after a mopped hallway. Downdraft is the difference: the fan sits a caster's height off the floor and blows down, so air spreads out in every direction instead of in one stripe. Powr-Flite says it can dry a room in as little as 15 minutes. How long it really takes depends on how wet the carpet and pad are and how much fresh air the room gets.
The trade-offs are size and weight. At 50 lbs and 27 x 17.5 x 24 inches, it's a two-hand lift into a van, and it costs more than a compact dryer. It's also for indoor use only. For routine drying after scrubbing or shampooing, a 22 lb Powr-Dryer does the job.
More than 3,500 CFM. A 6-blade, 16.5-inch precision-pitched fan.
360-degree downdraft airflow. Pulls warm air from above and spreads it across the whole floor.
4 drying positions. Face down on the casters, tilted back, upright, or tilted forward.
2-speed, 1/4 HP motor. Rated for continuous use, about 3.3 amps, with a 5 amp circuit breaker.
Roto-molded polyethylene housing. Powr-Flite backs it for 10 years.
Telescoping handle and 4 heavy-duty casters. Roll it in, set it down, done.
Stackable. Up to four high for transport and five for storage.
Made in the USA. Every F6 carries Powr-Flite's Made in the USA label.
A good fit: facilities teams handling leaks and overflows, carpet cleaners and restoration crews drying whole rooms, and schools or hotels that dry large carpeted areas after extraction.
Not the best fit: quick touch-ups after mopping, tight closets and carts, or anyone who has to carry dryers up stairs by hand.
Comparing downdraft dryers? The Tornado Windshear Downdraft is rated at 2,500 to 3,500 CFM with 2 speeds and a 1/4 HP motor, weighs 52 lbs and costs $51 more.
Drying floors after scrubbing or shampooing? The Powr-Flite Powr-Dryer pushes 3,800 FPM from a 22 lb housing for $340 less, and the Tornado Windshear 3200 is $289.

Instead of blowing air sideways in one direction, the F6 sits face down on its casters, pulls warmer, drier air from above the unit and pushes it down and out in all directions across the floor. That covers a whole room evenly, which is why it's used for wet carpet and water damage.
Powr-Flite says as little as 15 minutes for an entire room. Real drying time depends on how wet the carpet and pad are, the humidity and how much air the room exchanges, so badly soaked carpet takes much longer.
Four: face down on the casters for downdraft drying, tilted back on its molded legs for elevated surfaces, upright to send air across a room, and tilted forward to push air along the floor in front of it.
Powr-Flite rates it at 3.3 amps. Four add up to about 13 amps on a 15 amp circuit, so run three if anything else shares that circuit.
Up to four high for transport and five high for storage. Don't move or carry the dryer while it's running.
Powr-Flite covers the roto-molded housing for 10 years and parts and labor for 1 year.
