It's 5:30 p.m., half the office is still at their desks, and the carpet has to be done before the crew moves to the next suite. The Powr-Flite Rigel Deluxe PV130-W14-U is a 14-inch commercial upright with a quiet mode that brings it down to 66 dB(A), so the crew can start without clearing the room.
It runs a 1,200 W, 10 amp motor at 103 cfm with 3-stage HEPA filtration. A carpet and hard floor selector stops the brush roll for tile, LVT and wood, and the nozzle sets its own height. Pull the telescopic wand off the back, add the two extension wands, and you reach 16 feet for vents and ceiling corners. A HEPA bag and a reusable cloth bag both come in the box.
The Rigel Deluxe is the upright I'd pick for buildings that get cleaned while people are still in them: offices with late workers, hotel corridors in the morning, clinics between patients. Quiet mode is a button on the handle, not a different machine, so the operator drops to low near occupied rooms and goes back to high in the empty ones. The brush roll switch matters just as much. With the brush stopped, it vacuums tile and wood without scattering grit or scuffing the finish.
Two honest notes. Quiet mode runs the motor at lower power, so use high speed on heavily soiled entry carpet. And at 71 dB(A) on high, it's still louder than normal conversation (around 60 dB). If you don't need quiet mode or the floor selector, the Rigel Pro is the same 14-inch body for less.
