Keep Sanding Dust Off the Bleachers and Out of the Air

Screening a gym floor or dry stripping a classroom throws fine dust everywhere: on the bleachers, the window sills and the next coat of finish. This vacuum skirt kit closes in the deck of your Clarke FM40 orbital floor machine and connects it to a vacuum, so the dust is pulled away at the pad instead of settling on the room. Clarke calls it the FM40 dust containment kit and lists it as an option for both the ST and the LX.

Which Jobs Need Dust Containment?

• Screen and recoat. Running sanding screens on a wood gym floor before a new coat of finish.

• Dry finish removal. Stripping with a maroon prep pad without water.

• Occupied buildings. Prep work in schools, offices and healthcare areas where dust can't drift into the next room.

For wet jobs, take the skirt off and fit the FM40 solution tank kit instead. Those are the FM40's two optional kits.

Why Add the Vacuum Skirt Kit

• Dust caught at the source. The skirt surrounds the deck, and the hose carries the dust to your vacuum.

• Cleaner recoats. Less dust on the floor means less dust trapped in the new finish.

What's in the Kit

As shown, the kit has the fabric skirt, the flexible wire stays that shape it around the deck, a corrugated vacuum hose and the hose mount for the machine. You supply the vacuum. Clarke doesn't publish the hose end size, so before you order, send us your vacuum model and we'll check it will connect.
