EDIC® Circuit Locator for Dual Cord Carpet Extractors and Heaters, Standard or Twist-Lock #988CS / #989CS
(855) 601-5678 · support@oneupcleaning.com
A heated carpet extractor pulls a lot of power. Run the machine and a 2000 W Heat N Run heater, or a dual cord Galaxy Pro 2700FX, off two outlets that share one breaker, and the breaker trips in the middle of the job. Then you're hunting for the panel in a building you don't know, with a customer watching.
The EDIC circuit locator settles it in seconds. Plug its two ends into the two outlets you plan to use, and it shows whether they're on separate circuits before you plug in the machine. EDIC includes one in its CR2 carpet cleaning kits; it belongs in the van of anyone who runs a heater.

989CS, two standard plugs ($150): for machines and heaters that plug into ordinary wall outlets. This is the one most cleaners need.
988CS, one standard plug and one twist-lock ($150): for equipment with a twist-lock plug. It lets you test a twist-lock connection against a standard outlet.
Both work the same way and suit any EDIC machine run on two outlets: the Galaxy 5, Galaxy 2000 and Galaxy Pro with a Heat N Run heater, the dual cord Galaxy Pro 2700FX, and the CR2 with its carpet kit. EDIC's short video shows it in use.

Running a 500 PSI Galaxy CX? It draws 17.1 amps on its own and needs a 20 amp circuit, so check that circuit first and put the heater on a second one.

It tells you whether two outlets are on separate circuits before you plug in. A heated extractor or a dual cord machine needs two circuits; if both cords end up on one breaker, it trips mid-job. Plug the locator's two ends into the outlets you want to use and it shows the answer in seconds.
If you run a Heat N Run heater with a Galaxy, a dual cord Galaxy Pro 2700FX, or a CR2 with its carpet kit, it saves time and tripped breakers on every unfamiliar job site. Single cord machines without a heater don't need it.
Most cleaners need the 989CS, with two standard plugs for ordinary wall outlets. Choose the 988CS if your equipment uses a twist-lock plug. Not sure? Send us a photo of the plug.
Yes, EDIC lists a circuit sensor in both CR2 carpet kits (705HR-GK and 705HR-TK). Buy one here if you need a spare or run a Galaxy with a heater.
