705HR or 700HR: Do You Need the Power Cord?

The heater itself is identical in both versions: the same 2000-watt stainless steel tank, the same mounting bracket, the same 500 psi rating and the same warranty. The only difference is what's in the box.

705HR, with 50 ft cord. The complete system. It includes EDIC's 50 ft detachable power cord, so the heater plugs into its own outlet the day it arrives. This is the right pick for a first Heat N Run.
700HR, heater only, no cord. The same heater without the cord, for $68 less. Pick it if you already own a spare EDIC 50 ft detachable cord, if you're replacing a heater whose cord is still good, or if you're adding a second heater to move between machines and plan to share the cord you have.

One thing to plan for either way: the heater draws 16.6 amps, so it needs its own cord running to its own 15 or 20 amp circuit, separate from the extractor. It can't share the extractor's cord or outlet. If you don't have a second cord on hand, the 705HR saves you a trip to the store.

What's the difference between the 705HR and the 700HR?

Nothing on the heater itself. Both are the same 2000-watt Heat N Run with the same tank, bracket, 500 psi rating and warranty. The 705HR ships with EDIC's 50 ft detachable power cord; the 700HR ships without a cord, for $68 less. Choose the 700HR only if you already have a cord for it.

Can the heater run off my extractor's power cord?

No. The heater draws 16.6 amps and needs its own cord to its own 15 or 20 amp circuit, separate from the extractor's circuit. If you only have the extractor's cord, order the 705HR.

Which EDIC machines does the Heat N Run fit?

Any EDIC heat-ready extractor: the Galaxy 2000, Galaxy Pro, Galaxy 5 and the CR2. It mounts on the outside of the machine with no tools, and the machine's pump must run at 500 psi or less with the heater installed.

How hot does the water get, and how fast?

EDIC rates the Heat N Run at up to 200°F, reached within about 90 seconds of switching it on. Hot water loosens soil faster, so you make fewer passes and the carpet dries sooner.

What does the warranty cover?

EDIC covers the heater for 5 years parts and labor, with a lifetime warranty on the stainless steel heater tank and rotationally-molded housing. The same terms apply to the 705HR and the 700HR.
