EDIC 1012AC-GL: Make Your Stainless Wand Glide Instead of Drag


A bare stainless steel wand head grabs dense carpet and plush pile, so every stroke takes more arm and every pass leaves a little more water behind. The EDIC 1012AC-GL is a low-friction Teflon glide that clips onto the head of a 12 inch stainless steel carpet wand. The wand slides across the carpet, the lips seal against the fibers, and the vacuum pulls more water out on each pass.

It's the glide EDIC packs in its Galaxy "WK" kits and in the CR2 Glidemaster carpet kit, and it fits the Glidemaster 12 inch wands and most industry-standard 12 inch stainless wands. It installs by hand, with no tools.

Which Wands Does It Fit?

  • Yes: the Glidemaster 12 inch dual jet S-bend (1034-110015FB and 1034-11001FB) and 12 inch single jet (1033-11003FB), the double bend Glidemaster in the CR2 carpet kit, and most other 12 inch stainless steel wands.

  • No: the 10 inch Glidemaster (330-11003FB) and the 10 inch stair and van wand, which have narrower heads. The Triton doesn't need one: its UHMW glide is built in.

When to replace it: once the edges wear sharp or the glide cracks and stops sitting flat, it drags and leaks air at the lips. Keep a spare in the van; at $100 it pays for itself in faster drying on the next big job.

Which wands does it fit?

EDIC's 12 inch Glidemaster wands (1034-110015FB, 1034-11001FB and 1033-11003FB), the double bend Glidemaster in the CR2 carpet kit, and most other 12 inch stainless steel carpet wands. It doesn't fit 10 inch heads such as the 330-11003FB or the stair and van wand.

Does the Glidemaster come with a glide?

EDIC packs the 1012AC-GL in its Galaxy "WK" machine kits and the CR2 Glidemaster kit. Buy it here as a replacement, a spare, or for a wand that came without one.

Do I need one for the Triton?

No. The Triton has a UHMW glide built into its head.

What does a glide actually do?

The Teflon surface slides over carpet instead of grabbing it, so strokes take less effort. The glide also helps the wand lips seal against the carpet, so more air and water go through the vacuum slot and the carpet dries faster.

How do I fit it?

By hand: it clips onto the wand head with no tools. Slide off the old one first if it's worn.

What is the warranty?

EDIC's standard limited warranty covers defects in material and workmanship. Glides are wear items, so normal wear isn't covered.
