ICE® iS1100L+ 44" Ride-On Floor Sweeper

Your floor is too big to walk. That is the whole reason this machine exists, and it is the first thing to be honest with you about.

The ICE iS1100L+ is a ride-on floor sweeper built for wide, open concrete: warehouse aisles, distribution floors, manufacturing bays, parking structures, arena concourses. With both side brushes down it clears a 44 in (1,118 mm) path in one pass, so your standard 12 ft aisle takes three laps instead of the six a walk-behind needs.

Grit, packaging debris, sawdust, sand tracked in off the dock. The main brush throws all of it forward into a 21.2 gal (80 L) hopper. A panel filter with 38.8 sq ft (3.6 m²) of surface traps the fine dust instead of leaving it hanging in your aisle behind the machine.

You sit down, tap the touch panel, and drive. Forward speed runs up to 3.7 mph, which is a brisk walk. Reverse is capped at 1.8 mph, so nobody backs into racking at speed. The 24 V lithium-ion battery gives you up to 3 hours of run time, enough for most single-building night routes without a mid-shift swap.

I sell far more walk-behind sweepers than ride-ons, and for most buildings the walk-behind is still the right call. This one is for the other case.

Two things stand out once you are actually on it. The debris hopper lifts out of the back, and at 21.2 gallons it holds roughly four 5-gallon buckets before anyone has to deal with it. And it is quiet. ICE measures 63.8 dB(A) at the seat, right around normal conversation volume, so you can run it while your building is still occupied without clearing the floor.

It fits you if your floor runs roughly 50,000 sq ft and up, mostly open, hard surface, and the crew keeps running out of night. It does not fit a tight retail backroom, aisles chopped up by racking every 20 feet, or anyone who actually needs the floor washed rather than swept. A sweeper picks debris up. It does not clean. If your problem is film and footprints rather than grit, you want a scrubber instead, and I will tell you that on the phone.

ICE rates the iS1100L+ at 66,740 sq ft/hr. That number is theoretical coverage: cleaning path multiplied by top speed, in a straight line, with nothing in the way.

Nobody sweeps in a straight line. Turns, rack ends, dock doors, the pallet somebody left in the aisle and hopper dumps all take time out of the hour. The rule of thumb is to subtract 30% to 50% for real conditions, which puts the iS1100L+ somewhere around 33,000 to 47,000 sq ft/hr in a working building.

Run the math on your own floor before you spend the money. If you have a 200,000 sq ft distribution center, the low end of that range is a little over 6 hours of sweeping, so one operator covers it across two nights or in one long shift. A 60,000 sq ft plant is closer to 90 minutes, which fits inside a single shift with time left for the rest of the route.

Short answer: if your problem is loose debris on your floor, you want a sweeper. If your problem is dirt stuck to that floor, you want a scrubber.

A sweeper like the iS1100L+ runs dry. Brushes flick grit, dust, paper, sand and packaging scrap into the hopper, and a filter traps the airborne fines. No water, no chemical, no drying time, so the floor is walkable the second you pass. On sealed concrete, epoxy and outdoor-to-indoor transitions, that is usually the whole job.

A scrubber lays down solution, agitates it and vacuums it back up. That is what takes off film, scuff and grease. Plenty of facilities run both, and the order is sweep first then scrub, because a scrubber pushed through loose grit just grinds it into your finish.

The standard machine ships with nylon brushes, the right choice for your concrete, sealed hard floor, epoxy and VCT.

For carpet, and for very fine dust on hard floors, ICE fits mix fiber brushes instead: part 7000621 for the main brush and part 7000623 for the side brush. Natural fiber holds fine particles better than nylon, which is why the carpet package is its own configuration rather than a bolt-on. Pick the Carpet Package option above if your route covers carpeted showroom, office or convention space alongside your hard floor, and order it up front. Retrofitting mix fiber brushes later costs more than the package adds today.

Worth being straight with you: this is a sweeper, not a carpet extractor. It lifts dry soil out of your carpet pile. It will not take out a spill or a traffic lane stain, and it does not replace periodic extraction.

The iS1100L+ runs on a 24 V lithium-ion pack with an onboard charger. You park it, plug it into a standard outlet and walk away. Lithium tolerates opportunity charging, so a 20 minute top-up on a break is fine, and it does not shorten pack life the way it would on lead acid.

Your daily care list is short. ICE asks you to clean and check the dust filter every 10 hours of run time, along with a brush height check and a quick look at the skirts. Belt inspection comes at 50 hours, fastener and steering chain checks at 100 hours.

Budget for wear parts the way you would on any sweeper. Brushes, the dust filter and the skirts are consumables, so they sit outside the 5 year warranty. How fast you go through them depends entirely on how abrasive your floor is.

The iS1100L+ ships crated from ICE and moves by LTL freight. At 630 lb with the battery installed it is a forklift or pallet jack unload, so you need a dock or a liftgate at your building.

ICE typically ships in 5 to 7 business days, and delivery usually lands 8 to 12 business days from order. Your machine arrives with its main brush, side brushes, dust filter, lithium battery and onboard charger already fitted.
