It's 5 a.m. in a 60,000-square-foot store, and every aisle of VCT has to be clean and dry before the doors open at eight. On a 20-inch walk-behind, that's most of a shift for one person. The ICE RS26+ is a 26-inch ride-on floor scrubber that lets the same operator sit down and finish in two to three hours.
ICE rates it at 46,300 square feet an hour. Take off 30 to 50% for turns, refills and dumping and you still get 23,000 to 32,000 square feet an hour of real cleaning. The 29-gallon tanks and a battery pack that runs 3 to 3.5 hours per charge cover that whole floor in one sitting.
A single programmable button sets the machine to work, so a new operator is scrubbing on day one. ICE backs it with a 5-year parts and labor warranty and 3 years of travel, and you pick the batteries: flooded lead acid, sealed AGM, or none if you already own a set.
A rider earns its price on big, open floors: warehouses, big-box stores, school hallways and gyms, hospital corridors, airport concourses. For a rider, the RS26+ is compact. The body is 33 inches wide and the squeegee 34 inches, so it rolls through a standard 36-inch doorway with about 2 inches to spare, and it turns around in a 71-inch aisle. It scrubs up gentle slopes of up to 7% and drives up 17.5% ramps with empty tanks.
Every RS26+ runs on four 6-volt batteries (24 volts), and you choose how it ships:
Flooded lead acid (305 Ah). The lowest price with batteries. Someone has to check the water level and top up with distilled water, and the battery compartment stays open while it charges.
AGM (sealed). No watering and no acid spills, for $723 more. The safer pick if nobody on your crew will look after batteries every week.
Machine only. For fleets that already stock batteries. ICE's manual calls for four 6-volt, 305 Ah deep-cycle batteries in the US. Talk to us before you buy them so they fit the tray and suit the charger.

I'll be straight with you: the RS26+ isn't the fanciest rider ICE makes. It runs on lead acid or AGM batteries instead of lithium, and it doesn't have the i-Synergy fleet reports you get on the RS26L. What it does have is the same 26-inch deck, the same 29-gallon tanks and the same 5-year warranty for roughly $9,000 to $12,000 less. If you run one shift a night and someone on the crew will look after the batteries, that's a lot of money to keep in your budget.
Plan the delivery before you order. With batteries it weighs about 880 lb, so you'll need a loading dock or a liftgate truck, and a ramp if it has to move between buildings. Once it's on the floor, start on the lowest pad pressure and step up only where the floor needs it. That saves pads and battery.
26-inch path at up to 4 mph. Big floors get done in one sitting instead of taking a whole shift on foot.
29-gallon tanks. Fewer trips to the drain and the faucet, which is where a lot of a rider's time really goes.
Three pad pressure settings, up to 165 lb. Go light for daily scrubbing of finished floors and heavy for scuffed, greasy concrete.
On-board solution mixing from 1% to 5%. The machine doses the detergent into the water, so your crew stops guessing at dilution.
Tool-free squeegee blades. The curved die-cast aluminum squeegee takes new blades by hand, so a worn edge gets fixed on the spot.
Safety built in. Automatic braking and parking, a red emergency stop on the dash and a flashing safety light.
Your RS26+ arrives with two 12-inch pad drivers and its 25-amp on-board charger. It scrubs with two 13-inch pads, which aren't included, so order a case of 13-inch pads for your floor with it. For rougher concrete, ICE also sells a 13-inch medium-duty scrub brush.
ICE's current parts list prices that brush (part 9050013) at $254.00, a spare pad driver (9040013) at $254.00, the rear Linatex squeegee blade (8311531) at $79.80 and the front blade (8311534) at $58.32. Brushes, pad drivers, squeegee blades, hoses, the charger and lead acid or AGM batteries are wear items, so the warranty doesn't cover them.
After every shift, raise the pad deck and squeegee, drain and rinse both tanks, rinse the vacuum filter, wipe the squeegee and turn the blade if the edge is worn, then plug it in. Lift the seat before charging. With flooded batteries, check the water level often and top up with distilled water without overfilling, since the fluid expands while it charges. Once a month, clean the battery tops, check the cables, inspect the recovery tank lid seal, grease the pivot points and look for loose bolts or leaks.
