Pads ride on the high spots. On grout lines, textured tile and uneven concrete, the dirt sits in the low spots, and that's where a pad skims right over it. This 17-inch disk brush swaps onto your Clarke CA30 17E in place of the pad driver, and its bristles flex down into those low spots while the machine scrubs and dries in the same pass.
It's the brush Clarke lists in the CA30 17E parts manual (part VF90411), with polypropylene bristles. The same part fits the Viper AS430C, so one brush covers both machines if your fleet runs a mix.
Brush or Pad: Which One Should You Run?
Run the brush on grout, textured or slip-resistant tile, and rough or uneven concrete. Stay with the 17-inch pad driver and a pad on smooth VCT and sealed floors, and for any job where the pad color matters, like stripping or polishing. Our guide on brush vs pad goes deeper. How to Fit the Brush
Switch the machine off and unplug it. Lift the squeegee, press down on the handle to raise the brush deck, slide the brush under the deck, lower the deck onto it and turn the brush in the direction of the arrow to lock it on. To remove it, turn it the other way. The full steps are in the CA30 17E operator manual. Rinse the brush after each use and check the bristles for wear. Brushes are wear items, so Nilfisk's machine warranty doesn't cover them.
