Your Clarke CA30 17E ships with this 17-inch pad driver. It's what turns any standard 17-inch floor pad into a scrubbing, stripping or polishing tool, and it's Clarke part VF90453 in the CA30 17E parts manual.
A spare earns its place in two ways. It replaces a driver that's worn or damaged, and it lets your crew keep a second pad loaded, so switching from a scrub pad to a stripping pad takes a quick swap instead of a pad change on the floor. The pad sits on a center lock that keeps it centered while the machine runs.
Which Pad Goes on It?
Any 17-inch floor pad. On most pad color charts, black and brown are for stripping, green and blue for scrubbing, and red and white for light cleaning and polishing. On grout and textured tile, a pad skims over the low spots, so switch to the 17-inch VF90411 scrub brush there. Our guide on brush vs pad explains when each one wins.
Genuine Clarke part. The same VF90453 driver the CA30 17E ships with.
Takes any 17-inch pad. Strip, scrub or polish with the pad the job calls for.
Center lock. Keeps the pad centered so it runs flat and wears evenly.

How to Fit the Pad Driver
Switch the machine off and unplug it. Lift the squeegee, press down on the handle to raise the deck, slide the driver underneath, lower the deck onto it and turn it in the direction of the arrow to lock it on. Turn it the other way to remove it. The CA30 17E operator manual has the full steps. Pad drivers are wear items and aren't covered by Nilfisk's machine warranty.
