EDIC 2004BR: The Genuine Flex-Lock Pad Driver for the Saturn SV 20-Inch Burnisher

A burnisher is only as good as the driver holding the pad. The EDIC 2004BR flex-lock pad driver is the one that ships on every Saturn SV 20-inch high speed burnisher, 1500 and 2000 RPM alike. Its face flexes to follow the floor, so the pad stays in full contact over dips and joints and you get an even shine instead of a stripe, and a threaded center lock pins the pad on center so it can't walk at 2000 RPM.

Order it when the original has worn, cracked or lost its grip, or keep a spare on the truck so a damaged driver doesn't take the machine out of service. Genuine EDIC part, $138.

It does not fit the EDIC Saturn low speed, dual speed or heavy duty floor machines; those use the 1603BR (16 in) and 1903BR (19 in) pad drivers. Not sure which machine you have? Send us a photo of the nameplate and we'll confirm.

Fitting a Pad

Unplug the burnisher, tilt it back on its rear wheels until it rests on the handle, center a 20-inch burnishing pad on the driver, drop in the center lock and twist it clockwise until tight. To remove the pad, twist the lock counterclockwise. Take the pad and driver off before storing the machine so neither deforms, and never run a pad larger than 20 inches.

Which machines does the 2004BR fit?

The EDIC Saturn SV 20-inch high speed burnishers, both the 1500 RPM (20HS1500-BK-SV) and 2000 RPM (20HS2000-BK-SV) models. It is the same driver that ships with a new machine.

Does it fit the Saturn 175 RPM or dual speed floor machines?

No. The low speed, dual speed and heavy duty Saturn floor machines use the 1603BR (16 in) and 1903BR (19 in) pad drivers. If you're not sure which machine you have, send us a photo of the nameplate.

What pads go on it?

20-inch burnishing pads rated for your machine's speed, 1500 or 2000 RPM. EDIC's manual says never to use a pad larger than 20 inches. Tell us your floor finish and we'll match a pad.

How does the center lock work?

Center the pad on the driver, drop the threaded center lock through the pad's hole and twist it clockwise until tight. Twist counterclockwise to release. Always unplug the burnisher first, and remove the pad and driver before storing the machine.

Is a pad driver covered by the machine warranty?

Pad drivers are wear items, so treat them as consumables. The Saturn SV's 5-year parts and labor warranty covers the machine; a driver that has worn out from use is a normal replacement, which is what this page is for.
