Think of a school cafeteria, a gym lobby, the main aisles of a grocery store or an open office floor. A 20-inch machine needs too many passes, and most 28-inch machines won't go through a standard door without pulling the squeegee. That middle ground is where a 24-inch walk-behind floor scrubber earns its keep, and the ICE i24YT is ICE's traction-drive answer in its new Y series.
Two pad drivers sit side by side on a 24-inch path, in a body only 26 inches wide. The traction drive moves the machine forward and in reverse, so your operator steers instead of pushing 441 lb. It scrubs with up to 99 lb of pad pressure, carries a 16-gallon solution tank and a 17-gallon recovery tank, and runs on a 24-volt lead acid or AGM battery pack charged by the on-board charger. ICE backs it with 5 years parts and 5 years labor.
ICE rates the i24YT at 28,000 square feet an hour and about 3 hours per charge. Take off 30 to 50% for turns, refills and edges and you still get roughly 14,000 to 19,600 square feet an hour of real cleaning, enough for a cafeteria, a string of classrooms and the halls between them in one shift.
Both versions are the same scrubber with the same on-board charger and the same 24-volt, 150 Ah battery capacity. The only difference is the type of battery that arrives installed.
Lead acid ($8,845). The lowest price to get running. Somebody has to check the water level before charging, every time, and keep the battery tops clean.
AGM ($813 more). Sealed and maintenance-free: no watering, no acid spills. Pick it when several people share the machine or nobody owns battery care.

The i24YT is the 20-inch i20YT's bigger brother. It keeps the same tanks, console, transaxle and curved 31.5-inch squeegee, but the die-cast aluminum scrub head carries two 11-inch pad drivers turned by a single brush motor through a drive belt. With lead acid batteries it costs just $257 more than the i20YT for 4 more inches of path, and the 26-inch body still rolls through a 36-inch door with the squeegee on. For a room full of open floor, that's the cheapest time you'll ever save.
Now the honest part. The tanks didn't grow with the deck: at 16 gallons, you'll stop to refill sooner on a big open floor than you would with the Tornado BD 26/20 or the ICE i28BT, both of which cost more. The 24-inch head uses standard 3-lug pad drivers, not the magnetic driver of the 20-inch Y series. ICE rates it for slopes up to 5%, so it's a flat-floor machine, and at 441 lb with batteries it ships by freight.

16 and 17 gallon tanks. The recovery tank is bigger than the solution tank, so you scrub a full tank before you dump.
26-inch body, 31.5-inch curved squeegee. Passes a standard 36-inch door without taking anything off, and picks up clean in turns.
Two-stage vacuum and 68 dB(A). Strong water pickup that's still quiet enough for daytime cleaning in schools, clinics and stores.
Your i24YT arrives with its lead acid or AGM batteries installed, the on-board charger, the curved squeegee assembly and two 11-inch pad drivers (ICE 9040011). ICE's matching brushes for this deck are 12-inch, so plan on 12-inch floor pads, two at a time. Pads aren't included; tell us your floor and we'll send the right ones with the machine. For grout and textured tile, ICE sells 12-inch brushes (9050012, 9050012P and the L-800 lug version 9050012U at $254.00 each).
On ICE's current parts list, the optional Center-Lok pad driver (9040011K) and the L-800 lug pad driver (9040011U) are $254.00 each, the brush drive belt (8126005) is $123.94, the brush motor kit (8160530) is $440.00 and the complete squeegee assembly (8158000) is $435.32. The Linatex squeegee blades are 8118054 front ($46.20) and 8118055 rear ($60.66); polyurethane blades for oily floors are 8118154 front ($57.40) and 8118155 rear ($73.38). Pads, brushes, pad drivers, squeegee blades, hoses, the belt, the charger and wet or AGM batteries are wear items, so the warranty doesn't cover them.
After every shift, drain and rinse both tanks, clean the float shut-off and filter, wipe the squeegee and turn the blade if the edge is worn, then charge with the recovery tank propped open for ventilation. On lead acid batteries, check the water level before you plug in. Once a month, clean the battery tops, check the cables, the recovery lid seal and the brush belt, and charge the batteries if the machine is sitting unused. Drain everything before storing it anywhere that could freeze.
