Every EDIC Galaxy automotive extractor leaves the factory with one of these: a 15-foot vacuum and solution hose assembly built for the 1,000-watt in-line heater and 120 psi pump on the Galaxy 5 Automotive (539BX-EH) and the Galaxy Auto 3000 (3139BX-EH). The EDIC 1040AC-HPB is that same assembly sold on its own, so you can replace a hose that has been dragged over door sills for three years, or keep a second set ready so one can dry while the other is in the van.
You get a 1-1/2 inch crush-proof vacuum hose with cuffs on both ends and a 1/4 inch high-pressure, high-heat solution line with brass quick disconnects, running alongside the vacuum hose so the pair moves as one. The vacuum cuff pushes onto the extractor's inlet barb; the solution line clicks onto the heater's outlet quick disconnect at one end and onto your detailing tool or wand at the other.
It's an EDIC part, made for EDIC machines, and it is the assembly EDIC's price list specifies for the automotive units. Fifteen feet is the right length for a detail bay: it reaches the back seat of a full-size SUV with the extractor parked at the door, without leaving 10 feet of hose on the floor to trip over.
EDIC sells two 15-foot Galaxy hose assemblies and the part numbers are one letter apart, so check your machine before you order:
1040AC-HPB, this page. Listed by EDIC as the "15 ft hose assembly for automotive units." Order it for the Galaxy 5 Automotive 539BX-EH and Galaxy Auto 3000 3139BX-EH, which ship with this assembly and the 602HR 1,000 W in-line heater.
1040AC-HP. The standard high-pressure Galaxy hose for the heat-ready Galaxy 5, Galaxy 2000 and Galaxy Pro extractors, and the hose EDIC packs into its Glidemaster and Triton wand kits. Ask us if you need one; it is not on the site yet.
Not sure which one you have? Send us a photo of the fittings on your current hose, or your machine's model number from the serial plate, and we'll match it. The Bravo spotter uses a different 8-foot assembly (342AC, or 343AC on heated units), not this one.
Crush-proof 1-1/2 inch vacuum hose. Car doors close on it, tires roll over it and it keeps its bore, so the extractor's 117 inches of waterlift arrive at the tool.
High-heat, high-pressure solution line. Rated for the 170°F water the 602HR heater delivers and well beyond the 120 psi pump, so it doesn't soften or weep at the crimps.
Brass quick disconnects. Click on, click off. No wrenches, and the same fittings as EDIC's stainless detailing tool, crevice tool and 10-inch wand.
15 feet, 12 lb. Long enough for a full-size interior from one parking spot, light enough to coil over a shoulder at the end of the day.
Genuine EDIC part. EDIC's warranty asks for original parts on its machines. This is one.
Flush a gallon of clean hot water through the solution line at the end of every shift so chemical doesn't crystallize in the quick disconnects, and hang the assembly in loose coils rather than folding it. Wear gloves when you break a heated connection: the brass fittings hold 170°F water. If the vacuum hose ever kinks permanently or a cuff tears, replace the assembly; a leak on the vacuum side costs you suction and dry times on every job after it.
