The NaceCare CTB 370NX: A Cordless Carpet Spotter That Sprays, Scrubs and Extracts

A coffee lands on the carpeted stairs ten minutes before the board meeting. Dragging the big extractor up there means a cord across the landing and an outlet you can't find. The NaceCare CTB 370NX battery carpet spotter runs on a 36-volt NX300 lithium battery for up to 40 minutes, weighs 21 lbs, and sprays, scrubs and extracts the stain where it is.

A 26-watt pump at 33 psi puts down cleaning solution at 0.3 gallons per minute, and a 400-watt motor with 105 cfm pulls it back out of the carpet. Swap tools and the same machine cleans upholstery, restroom corners and the tile around fixtures that a floor scrubber can't reach.

The Owner's Insights on the CTB 370NX

What sells me on the CTB 370NX is how fast it goes from closet to stain. No hose to the sink, no cord, no warming up: fill the inner tank with cold water and solution, click in the battery, and you're extracting. When you're done, the wand docks on the back of the machine.

It's a spotter, not a carpet extractor for whole rooms. The clean water tank holds about 1.6 gallons, and at 0.3 gallons a minute that's roughly 5 minutes of trigger time per fill. NaceCare also says to use cold water only, up to 68°F. If you're cleaning hallways wall to wall, look at a box or walk-behind extractor. For stairs, upholstery, spills and the corners everything else misses, it's one of the handiest machines we sell.

Why You'll Love the CTB 370NX Battery Spot Extractor

  • Cordless spray extraction. Clean stairs, landings and seating with no cord across the floor.

  • Carpet, upholstery and hard floors. Pick the kit that matches the surfaces you clean most.

  • 33 psi pump, 105 cfm vacuum. Enough to flush a stain out and leave the fibers damp, not soaked.

  • 64 dB(A). Just above normal conversation at about 60 dB, so you can spot clean an open lobby.

  • 2,000-hour motor, 5-year motor warranty. Per NaceCare's spec sheet.

  • NX300 battery, 2,500 cycles. NaceCare puts that at about 10 years of cleaning 5 days a week, and it charges to 80% in an hour.

Which Kit Should You Pick?

Every CTB 370NX comes with one NX300 battery and a charger. Tap a picture to see it up close.

CTB 370NX battery carpet spotter with its spray and extraction hose

A42 kit: 10-foot hose and 4-inch hand tool. The classic spotter setup at $1,549. Best for upholstery, stairs, car seats and small carpet stains you clean on your knees.

CTB 370NX battery carpet spotter with its spray and extraction hose

A40B kit: extraction kit, hand tool and hard floor brush. Adds $100 over the A42. The pick when restroom tile, grout lines and sealed floors are part of the job.

CTB 370NX with the CTX 170 X-tract wand

CTX 170 X-tract wand. Adds $200 over the A42. A stand-up wand that switches between a scrub brush and an extraction head, so you clean carpet and hard floors without kneeling. It docks on the back of the machine.

One battery or two? A second NX300 in the box adds $575, about 80 minutes in all. One battery handles a day of spot calls; take two if the machine runs a scheduled stair or seating route.

Battery Carpet Spotter or Portable Carpet Extractor?

A spotter wins on small, scattered jobs: one stain here, a stair run there, a chair in the lobby. Because there's no cord, the CTB 370NX is working while you'd still be unrolling an extension cord, and it rides between floors easily at 21 lbs.

A portable box extractor wins on whole rooms. Bigger tanks, hotter water and a longer reach mean fewer refills. If you only need to pick up water, the NaceCare WVB 370NX cordless wet/dry vacuum uses the same body and battery and costs $50 less. Why You Should Consider a NaceCare Carpet Spotter

NaceCare is Numatic's North American distributor, and Numatic builds the CTB 370NX in England on the same NX300 battery platform that runs NaceCare's cordless vacuums and scrubbers, so one spare battery covers several machines. We're an authorized NaceCare retailer, so the full NaceCare warranty comes with every machine. Found a lower price? Call or message us and we'll beat it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the A42, A40B and X-tract kits?

The A42 is a 10-foot hose and a 4-inch hand tool for upholstery, stairs and small carpet stains. The A40B adds an extraction kit and a hard floor brush for tile and sealed floors. The CTX 170 X-tract is a stand-up wand that switches between a scrub brush and an extraction head, so you clean carpet and hard floors without kneeling. The machine and battery are the same in all three.

Can I use hot water?

No. NaceCare's owner manual says cold water only, up to 20°C (68°F). There's no heater in the machine.

How much solution and recovery does it hold?

Numatic, the manufacturer, lists about 1.6 gallons (6 L) of clean water and 2.4 gallons (9 L) of recovery. NaceCare's own documents list different figures, so plan on refilling roughly every 5 minutes of continuous spraying at 0.3 gallons a minute.

How long does the battery last?

Up to 40 minutes on one NX300 battery. It charges to 80% in 1 hour and 100% in 2, and NaceCare rates it at up to 2,500 cycles.

Can it clean hard floors?

Yes. With the A40B hard floor brush or the X-tract wand in scrub mode it sprays, scrubs and picks up on tile, grout and sealed floors, and it reaches corners, edges and the area around fixtures a scrubber can't.

Which chemicals can I use?

Use approved spray extraction cleaning solutions and add defoamer if foam builds up. Flush the system with clean water after each use to avoid blockages.

Can it vacuum dry debris too?

Yes. The owner manual says it can be used for dry pickup as well as wet pickup and carpet and upholstery cleaning, with the bag and filter fitted for dry use. It is not for hazardous or explosive dust.

Does it need a special nozzle?

Yes. NaceCare says the 920141 extraction nozzle, with its small pinhole that regulates airflow, is required. Using a different nozzle can shorten battery life and hurt performance.

Does it use the same battery as my other NaceCare machines?

Yes. The NX300 (913686) also runs the WVB 370NX wet/dry vacuum, the NBV and RBV vacuums and the 220NX, 440NX, TGB 516NX and TGB 817NX scrubbers.

What warranty does it have?

10 years on the body, 5 years on the motor per NaceCare's spec sheet, 4 years pro-rated on the NX300 battery, and 2 years on the charger, parts and labor.
