The Plates That Let Your Orbot Micro Run Pads

Your Orbot Micro needs these driver plates to run pads. They thread onto the two heads in place of brushes. The hook face grips AkwaStrip pads, and SuperZorb pads stretch over the plate with their elastic ring.

They're also a wear part. Orbot says the Velcro face generally needs replacing after about 200 hours of use, which is when pads start to slip. Keep a spare pair in the truck and a worn plate never ends a job early.

How to Fit the Driver Plates

Unplug your Micro and lay it head-up. Hold the counterweight nut with a flat wrench and thread each plate on clockwise, hand tight only. When fitting SuperZorb pads, center each pad and stretch the elastic ring over the plate, then turn the heads by hand to check the two pads don't touch.
