NaceCare HT 1800 In-Line Heater for Carpet Extractors (181800)

Cold water and a good chemical handle routine extraction. Greasy restaurant entries, cafeteria traffic lanes and body oils on hotel carpet are another story: they release much faster with hot water. The NaceCare HT 1800 in-line heater sits between your extractor's pump and the wand, and heats the solution on its way out.
It mounts on NaceCare's TP box extractors and AV walk-behinds with the brackets in the box, and it has its own power cord, so it doesn't load the extractor's circuit.
NaceCare TP 8X box extractor (two brackets, per the heater manual)
NaceCare TP 18SX box extractor (two brackets)
NaceCare AV 12QX walk-behind (single bracket)
NaceCare AV 18SX walk-behind
NaceCare AV 18AX self-propelled walk-behind (single bracket)
Buying a new machine? Every one of these pages sells the extractor and heater together as a package for the same price as buying them separately.

The one thing to know before you buy: the heater must plug into a different circuit from the extractor. On a typical 15 or 20 amp circuit, running both will trip the breaker. In most buildings that means running one cord to an outlet in the hallway and one to an outlet in the next room.
If you only have one circuit, NaceCare's manual has a workaround: plug in the heater first, recirculate the solution back into the tank to warm it, then unplug the heater and clean with the warm water. It's slower, but it works.
The solution reaches a steady temperature about a minute after you start spraying, and a high-limit switch shuts the element off at 158°F. Switch the heater off if you'll stop spraying for more than 30 or 40 seconds.
Hard water leaves lime inside the heating coil over time, and lime cuts the heater's output. Every few months, add 2 gallons of clean water and a quart of deliming chemical to the solution tank, leave the heater off and recirculate for about 30 minutes. Then rinse with clean water. Never run the heater dry, and never open its cover.

No. The heater must be on a different circuit from the extractor, or the breaker will trip on a typical 15 or 20 amp service. If you only have one circuit, pre-heat the tank by recirculating the solution with the heater on, then unplug the heater and clean.
The solution reaches a steady temperature about a minute after you start spraying. A high-limit switch shuts the element off if the water inside reaches 158°F (70°C).
It ships with brackets for NaceCare's TP 8X, TP 12QX and TP 18SX box extractors and the AV 12QX and AV 18AX walk-behinds, and NaceCare lists it for the AV 18SX. For any other machine, send us the model and we'll check.
