NaceCare TP 8X Tempest Box Carpet Extractor, 8 Gallon, 130 PSI

Your cleaning route has a dentist's office on the second floor, a church nursery and three apartment turnovers, and none of them has an elevator worth waiting for. The NaceCare TP 8X portable carpet extractor weighs 49 pounds and splits into two tanks, so it goes up the stairs and into the van without a second person.
Light doesn't mean weak. It runs a 2 hp, 1,500-watt vacuum motor with 106 cfm of airflow and a 130 psi diaphragm pump, and it ships with a 20-foot solution and vacuum hose and a stainless 3-jet wand, ready to work.
The TP 8X is the box extractor I'd hand to a contract cleaner who moves between small accounts all day. Two spring clips hold the upper tank to the lower one. Unclip them and you carry two light pieces instead of one awkward box, which matters on stairs and in a crowded van.
The 8-gallon tanks are the trade-off. At the full 1.2 gallons a minute, that's under 7 minutes of steady spraying per fill, so on a big floor you'll be refilling often. For offices, apartments, stairs, upholstery and spot jobs, that's rarely a problem.
If you clean ballrooms, sanctuaries or long corridors, the 18-gallon TP 18SX saves a lot of sink trips. If you mostly clean spots and spills, a battery spotter may be all you need.
Only 49 pounds. One person can carry it, and the tanks split for stairs and vans.
2 hp vacuum, 106 cfm. Strong airflow with 120 inches of water lift pulls the water back out of the carpet.
130 psi diaphragm pump with bypass. Full-size spray pressure at up to 1.2 gallons a minute.
Wand and 20-foot hose included. Ready for stairs, corners and upholstery out of the box.
Rotomolded polyethylene tanks. They won't dent or rust, and NaceCare backs them for 10 years.
Heater ready. Add the HT 1800 heater as a package for hot-water cleaning.

Machine only. The TP 8X with its 3-jet wand and 20-foot hose. Fill it with warm tap water and a low-foam chemical. That's enough for routine extraction and most spot work.

With the HT 1800 heater. An in-line heater that hangs on the TP 8X with the two brackets it ships with and heats the solution on its way to the wand. Hot water breaks down greasy soil faster in entryways, cafeterias and restaurants. It adds $1,046. It has its own cord and needs an outlet on a different circuit from the machine.

NaceCare rates the TP 8X at 800 square feet an hour. With refills every 8 gallons, moving chairs and edging, plan on 400 to 600. A 1,000 square foot office suite is about a two hour job, and a flight of stairs takes 20 to 30 minutes with the hand tool.
Keep the vacuum motor happy: use a low-foam chemical, add defoamer to the recovery tank if foam shows up, and clean the motor filter between the tanks every couple of months. After each job, rinse the pump with clean water and leave the lid off so the tank dries.
The TP 8X costs $2,195 with the wand and hose.
Bigger tanks. The NaceCare TP 18SX carries 18 gallons and takes the Smart Kit pre-spray as well as the heater, for $700 more.
A close rival. The Tornado Surge 10 has a bigger 10-gallon recovery tank and 135 inches of lift, and costs $45 less. It runs a 100 psi pump and weighs 93 pounds, so the TP 8X is the lighter, higher-pressure choice.
Mostly spots and spills? The cordless NaceCare CTB 370NX battery spotter costs $646 less and needs no outlet.

It weighs 49 pounds. Two spring clips hold the upper tank to the lower tank, so you can separate them and carry two lighter pieces up stairs or into a van.
Yes. It ships with 20-foot solution and vacuum hoses and a stainless 3-jet wand with a hand grip, so it's ready to clean out of the box.
Yes. Choose the package with the HT 1800 in-line heater, which hangs on the TP 8X with the two brackets in its box. The heater has its own power cord and must plug into a different circuit from the extractor, or the breaker will trip.
At the full 1.2 gallons a minute, 8 gallons is under 7 minutes of steady spraying. In real work with pauses, a fill lasts longer, but on large floors the 18-gallon TP 18SX saves a lot of refills.
Yes, with a 4-inch hand tool on the hose. We sell NaceCare's aluminum and plastic hand tools separately.
Use a low-foam chemical and add defoamer to the recovery tank if foam appears. After each job, empty both tanks, run clean water through the pump and store it with the recovery dome off. Clean the water filter and the motor filter between the tanks every couple of months. Wash wool carpet with cold water only.
Under NaceCare's 2025 US warranty chart for carpet extractors: 10 years on the polyethylene tanks, 2 years on motors, switches and electrical parts, and 2 years labor.
