Your Supernova or Polaris cleans open carpet on its own, with the brush head doing the work. Then you reach the stairs, a row of upholstered chairs or the edge of a cubicle wall, and a self-contained head can't follow. This vacuum and solution hose assembly with adapter plate fixes that: plug it in, add a wand or upholstery tool, and the same machine cleans everything the head can't reach.
It comes in two lengths: the 15 ft 1041AC at $168, which EDIC lists as the Polaris accessory hose, and the 25 ft 2541AC at $203 for stairwells and long rooms. Each one has a 1-1/2 inch vacuum hose, a high-pressure solution line with brass quick disconnects, and the adapter plate that fits your machine's vacuum lid.
EDIC's Polaris and Supernova manual describes a two-step switch from floor cleaning to hose work:
Vacuum side. Remove the machine's 2-inch hose adapter from the vacuum lid inlet and seat the adapter plate of this assembly in its place. The plate steps the opening down to the 1-1/2 inch hose that EDIC's wands and tools use.
Solution side. Pull back the sleeve on the machine's female quick disconnect and push in the solution line's male plug.
Clip your wand or tool onto the other end and you're ready for the stairs. Reverse the steps to go back to the floor head.
The Supernova runs an 85 psi pump and the Polaris a 120 psi pump, so pick the 100 to 250 PSI versions of EDIC's tools:
Carpet wand: the stainless Glidemaster 1034-110015FB dual jet or 1033-11003FB single jet, or the lightweight aluminum Triton TR1-95015FS-A.
Stairs: the stair and van wand, 10 inches wide and 30 inches long.
Powered cleaning: the Powermate brush wand, which EDIC lists as a Polaris accessory.
Upholstery: EDIC's 358AC upholstery kit ($378) has its own 15 ft hose, the 321ACH tool and a mesh bag, so you don't need this hose for upholstery. Already own this hose? Clip on the 321ACH tool ($262) on its own.
Skip the 500 PSI wand versions (1034-11001FB, TR1-9501FS-A). Their smaller tips put down too little water at 85 to 120 psi. Not sure what you have? Call (855) 601-5678 or message us your model number and we'll match the tools.
Flush the solution line with clean water after every job so chemical doesn't build up in the quick disconnects, and hang the hose in loose coils. Keep the 2-inch hose adapter you removed from the lid in a pocket of your cart; the machine needs it back for floor cleaning. If the vacuum hose kinks for good or a cuff tears, replace the assembly, because a leak on the vacuum side costs suction on every job.
